September 2024
Well, it has been an eventful year although I haven’t updated my website blog for a while, something I must improve!
As I am writing this blog I am preparing to go on a ‘mini tour’ of the UK with Frankie Beetlestone and of course my son Dan on drums. I will be uploading some images of the tour soon.
I have covered Download Festival and Rock and Roll Circus this year and also photographed individual bands/shows. This is something i enjoy and will continue to do while i still have the energy!
I have uploaded a fresh set of images to the front page of my website and you will see some portrait photography, studio work and some images of the Tour of Britain.
I have also upgraded my equipment this year and I am really happy with the results.
What’s Next?
Moving forward I am keen to expand my experience and knowledge in terms of wedding and corporate photography This is something that I have found hard to balance with working full time, but I will be making a real effort next year.
I already have one wedding booked for 2025, so if you like what you see on my website please let others know and ask them to get in touch.
I am also really excited about a new venture that my son Dan is embarking on. I will let him make the announcement..
Thanks for reading and get in touch if you need any photos!
December 2023
Well as the year comes to a close I can honestly say that it's been good one!
I have photographed a major UK Arena tour with access all areas, shot multiple bands in different venues and photographed Leeds, Download and Tramlines festivals.
You can see my reviews of various shows and festivals in the Press Article section of my website
I also discovered lots of new talent this year, notably bands such as The Hara and Dead Poney who are my hot tips for 2024.
I have mentioned previously that my Son Dan plays drums for Frankie Beetlestone. I was very proud (again!) to see them play Reading and Leeds festivals for the first time along with a successful second stage slot at Ynot Festival and a sold out Sheffield Headline show. Frankie has been busy writing and recording new materiel and having heard the results I am very excited for 2024.
On a personal level for 2024 I have some ambitions for my photography, I am in the process of upgrading my equipment and will be offering my services for all types of photography situations. Please take a moment to look at samples of my work on the website and if you need anything please contact me.
Finally I would like to wish you all the best and here’s to a healthy and successful 2024
Thanks
Jason

Tom Grennan Arena Tour
So last time I mentioned I was excited about the Tom Grennan UK Arena tour. Well things changed and Frankie called me late in the day to ask if I would drive the tour bus. Some of you may know that I played in several bands as a semi-professional musician for almost 30 years. I retired a few years ago, having done literally thousands of gigs across the UK and abroad. So as it happened I not only got to see the lads on a major tour, but I also got to help them do it.
The tour covered 10 dates across the UK. I was joined by Justin (Bass Player's Dad) for the south leg who took over driving duties (thank god, I was knackered). I guess all I can say is that it was a fantastic but challenging experience full of brilliant moments, fun, and emotion. Digging the van out of the snow on day one, 20 mile round trips dropping the lads back in City Centres after late night hotel check in’s, so they could make it to band after parties. Told off by Tom Grennans road crew manager for blocking his truck in! (He wasn’t happy). Meeting Tom and his band and amazing crew and seeing the lads play every night.
I also photographed and videoed the show each night. This was a real bonus and hopefully helped the lads with social media posts along the way.
For me, it was probably a never to be repeated one off experience. I'm really proud of all the lads. They were a pleasure to be around and smashed every show gaining lots of experience and new fans.
On 20th May the lads played a show at the Foundry in Sheffield. This was another brilliant night with fans picked up from the tour in attendance from all around the UK.
Photography and reviews
For me on the photography front I will be covering the Heavy Music Awards on 25th May and the Download Festival in June, Tramlines in July and Leeds Festival in August, so hopefully it's going to be a memorable summer.
If anyone needs photography services, message me on the contact page.
March 2023
Some of you may (or may not) know that my son Dan plays drums for singer songwriter Frankie Beetlestone. Frankie is signed to Distiller Records and managed by Various Artistes Management. Dan is endorsed by Dream Cymbals UK. It goes without saying that I am extremely proud of them and they have brought me some amazing moments with more to come.
I have travelled the length of the UK with the lads, including a support slot on Tom Grennan’s tour in 2021 numerous major festivals and of course the up coming Tom Grennan UK Arena Tour starting on 10th March!
The lads played a show in London in February supporting Ines Rae. The latest single ‘Cannonball’ was also released and features on some major Spotify playlists
In terms of Photography and live music reporting most of my reviews are for Backseat Mafia Magazine who are really supportive.
Please have a look online and check the magazine out.
That’s all for now, Keep checking back for tour updates and behind the scenes photo’s.
Cheers
Jason
